What is Recovery Counselling ?
Recovery Counselling with Rob is a professional, collaborative intervention based approach. Recovery Counselling has been developed using strength based and positive psychology principles.
It is a nonclinical resource and does not provide treatment or diagnoses for active addiction.
Why have you chosen this type of work ?
Having been in long term recovery myself, the Professional training and accreditation that I have completed, allows me the space to empathise with my clients. I am able to use my lived experiences of addiction and recovery to provide a Peer led, Person Centred approach to support individuals in making positive lifestyle choices that keep them on a path of recovery.
What Does a Counselling Session include ?
As my client you will have the freedom to decide on the content of your counselling sessions. The areas you chose to focus on will be the topics that we cover in our time together.
I include practical techniques including, Emotional Regulation, Mindfulness, Goal setting and Accountability/Progress processes.
How many Counselling sessions do you recommend?
It's your Recovery and you can choose what works best for you
Experience has shown me that 6 - 8 weekly sessions provide long term results .
At the beginning and end of each sessions, together, we review your progress and where you're at. We then decide what support looks like going forward. This can be fortnightly or monthly sessions.
Where are the Counselling sessions held ?
I offer sessions online via the Zoom platform, or in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays in Hamilton NSW
